| Schweizer Säbel eli sveitsiläissapeli on pitkäteräinen renessanssiajan kahdenkäden miekka. Säilä on taottu korkeahiilisestä jousiteräksestä ja sen hamarapuolella on n. 30 cm pitkä teroitettu kakkosterä. Väisti ja ponsi on taottu raudasta ja ne on viilakoristeltu. Väistin päissä on takomalla ja viilaamalla valmistetut kukkakoristeet, niin ikään ponnen kierrekuvio on tehty viilaamalla. Miekan kourain on muotoiltu puusta jonka päällä on nyöritys ja sävytetty peurannahkapinta. |
| Swiss sabre, a long bladed hand-and-a-half single edged sword of renaissance period. The blade has been forged of high-carbon spring steel and there is a secondary edge 30 cm long on the back. The guard and the pommel have been forged of iron and they have been decorated with file work. The ends of the guard have been decorated with flower motifs made by forging and filing, likewise the "writhen" pommel has been filed to shape. The grip is of cord wrapped wood with colored deer skin surface. |
